When Faith Becomes Contagious

There's something beautiful about authentic faith – it doesn't stay hidden. Like gratitude, genuine faith leaks. It becomes obvious. It affects not just the believer, but everyone in their sphere of influence.

💡
Wisdom of the Day: "If you want to change a country, you have to change the households. A lot of that starts with dads who believe in the words of Jesus."
John 4:53 "So the father knew that it was at the hour in which Jesus said to him, 'Your son lives,' and he himself believed, and his whole house believed."

When this royal official returned home and discovered that his son had been healed at the exact moment Jesus spoke the words "your son lives," something beautiful happened. Not only did he believe, but his whole household believed. His faith became contagious.

Why did the whole family believe? I think it's because they saw a father who believed the word of Jesus before he had ever seen the signs of Jesus. Here's a man whose faith was in the right order. Remember Romans 10:17 – "Faith comes by hearing." This father heard Jesus's word, believed it, and acted on it. His family witnessed faith in action.

Can I tell you something about genuine faith? Sooner or later, genuine faith always becomes vocal. It's not a promise that every single one of your children is going to get saved, but it is a promise that every believer's faith becomes vocal. And it's a general truth that in cultures where the father is passionate about the words of Jesus, it affects the household.

This doesn't just apply to biological fathers. Whether you're a dad, a mom, a single person, a student – your authentic faith in Jesus Christ has influence. When people see you taking God at His word, when they see your trust in Jesus bringing peace to your anxious heart, when they witness your faith in action, it becomes contagious.

But here's the key – it has to be authentic. People can spot fake faith from a mile away. But when they see genuine trust in Jesus, when they see someone whose life is anchored not in circumstances but in the promises of God, it draws them in. They want what you have.

Your faith might be the catalyst that brings transformation to your household, your workplace, your friend group, your community. Not because you're perfect, but because you're genuinely trusting in a perfect Savior.

2. In what ways has your faith become "vocal" in your daily life?

3. What would change in your relationships if you lived with more obvious trust in God's promises?
