Isaiah 9 was written to a people walking in darkness, and it announces a light. In this message Jonny walks through Isaiah 9:1–7 and expounds the prophecy regarding the Messiah who would come to restore, reconcile, and redeem His people — the child who would be born, the son who would be given.
The passage names Him Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace, and promises a government and a peace that will have no end, established and upheld by the zeal of the Lord of hosts. This sermon considers who this promised King is, and what it means that the eternal God entered our darkness to bring a peace the world cannot manufacture.
