Continuing through the Gospel of John, this message teaches John 2:13–25 and Jesus cleansing the temple. Finding the courts turned into a marketplace, He drives out those who were selling and overturns the tables, and His disciples remember what was written: “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.”
When asked for a sign, Jesus answers, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” — speaking, as John tells us, of the temple of His body. The passage reveals both the holiness of Christ's zeal for true worship and the first clear pointer in John's Gospel toward His death and resurrection.
